A logo based on a sketch I posted earlier (link here), for a story I'm trying to write. As you can see, the logo is for the United Nations Force Executive, the UNFE (a UN military).

Vectored off of a sketch, in Photoshop. Took quite a while to do the parts where the chain overlaps the sword.

So, er, symbolism. The UNFE is a massive peacekeeping force, so the sword symbolizes military force and the chain the restraint that keeps it in check. Simple 'nuff.

Changed the Latin motto to 'indica me via, ut te duciam' - 'show me the path, that I might guide you'.

I have a more detailed (unnecessarily detailed) history of the UNFE and how it came about in the sketch I linked you to earlier, so take a look if you have time. Apologies to :iconpanzerfire: - my storyline seems to intersect yours quite a bit, but I swear it was coincidental :(

Were you more of a Gundam, Ghost in the shell or Appleseed fan? Because I swear to God I can see that influence in your work; and that's meant in only the best of possible ways.

Reminds me of an idea I had back in college. My idea was called FEIT--Forces Elimiating International Terrorism (It's pronounced like 'Fight'). It was an elite UN unit that took the top 1 military and non-military counter insurgency forces from all over the world (Delta Force, Spetsnaz, GSG-9, Yamam, etc.) to work together to counter ANY terrorist organization all over the world. EVERYBODY shared intellegence and cross trained everybody else. Cultural and religious biases were not tolerated on any level.

This was concepted back in 1991-1992 (so I guess I'm the granddaddy of the idea. Other people make money off my ideas. :() I designed it for role playing, which composed most of my time then (when I wasn't in classes or working.) It was supposed to be a more proactive unit than what my brother's team, an international IMF-type group.

Sounds fantastic in principle... but with countries getting all feisty nowadays about national sovereignty and self-government, it might take a bit of a jolt to get them to agree to an extragovernmental force that operates without regard for borders.

That's the initial obstacle I had with my UNFE here. I basically overcame it by having the Soviets and the Americans nuke the shit out of each other back in 1960 after a lengthy spat over the Suez (in real history, that particular crisis was deftly defused by the international community). The result was that superpower globalism and Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) - the two doctrines that held up the world order until then - were utterly destroyed and renounced. Instead, some bright Canadian fellow comes up with a doctrine called 'Extranational Nuclear Deterrent' (END Theory) as an alternative to MAD - basically, take away all the nukes from the countries that have 'em and give them to the UN.

I designed this during Desert Storm, so international coalitions was the in thing at the time.

Wide-scale hostile actions by a country. Now that -is- an incentive for global cooperation.

Nice logo. The text in Latin is quite a nice touch.

And all the thingie of UN forces ain't really new. I myself based it more from the idea of UN forces I got from watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. No Big deal.

I have to make more work related to my UN forces 'though.
Looking forward to some of your UN related artwork. :)

Thanks :D

I actually thought the motto was a bit cheesy, was debating taking it out altogether...
